James Hetfield talks about the failure of the film "Through The Never".

James Hetfield recalls the launch

So What! magazine , James Hetfield of Metallica spoke about the commercial failure of the film "Through The Never," released by the band in 2013. Check out his statement:

“It’s an ambiguous feeling, what we have from the whole experience of the film. We put a lot of money, time and work into it and we thought it was so incredible, and we thought it was so unique, and that in the end was the cause of its downfall. It wasn’t a concert film, it wasn’t a dramatic action film, it was something in between. It fell into the middle of the chasm, and disappeared. It was very sad to see that.”.

According to Hetfield, the entire band was frustrated with the box office results. He concludes: “It’s not our strong point, plain and simple. We’re good at making music, we enjoy touring and playing. Our talent just didn’t translate to film .
