James Hetfield returns to rehab clinic and Metallica postpones tours

Information regarding his rehabilitation was provided on Metallica's official website

Metallica has postponed its tours in Australia and New Zealand. The reason is that lead singer James Hetfield has returned to rehab to treat his addictions.

All the information was released by Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Rob Trujillo on the band's official website:

"We are very sorry to inform our fans and friends that we need to postpone our tours in Australia and New Zealand.".

As many of you may know, our brother James has struggled with addiction for many years. He has, unfortunately, had to return to a program to work on his rehabilitation.

We intend to return to your corner of the world as soon as health and schedule allow. We will inform you as soon as we know. Again, we are devastated by this inconvenience, especially for those loyal fans who travel great distances to see our show. We appreciate your understanding and support for James. As always, thank you for being part of the Metallica family.

All tickets purchased for the shows in Australia and New Zealand will be refunded
