Metallica 's vocalist and guitarist , James Hetfield The Fierce Life podcast and made some noteworthy statements.

Metallica's co-founder confirmed that the band has been working on a new album to follow Hardwired… To Self-Destruct .

“In life, we’re either traveling on tour or composing music. Then Covid decided for us. Since we couldn’t go on the road, we started composing.”

Asked if Metallica would tour again this year, Hetfield said he had no idea: “It’s not up to me to decide. The important thing is everyone’s safety – not just the fans, but the crew and ourselves.”

James then added the most controversial part of the interview:

“I don’t know how things will be regarding vaccines. I’m a bit skeptical about getting vaccinated, but it seems like people are getting vaccinated; I have several friends who have been vaccinated. I’m not sure if I want to. I hope it doesn’t get to the point where you have to have some kind of Covid stamp in your passport to be allowed to travel anywhere in the world. But if it does get to that point, I’ll have to decide what to do. We got vaccinated to go to Africa, so it’s not like I’ve never been vaccinated in my life. But when I was a child, I never got vaccinated because of our religion. The only vaccine I ever got was when we went on a safari in Africa.”

Metallica had shows scheduled in Brazil for April 2020 with Greta Van Fleet , but these were postponed indefinitely .
