He reveals that his family's support saved him
Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix spoke with Radio Chatter about understanding what Linkin Park's Chester Bennington was going through when he committed suicide.
“I knew him well. We went out to dinner a month before everything happened. He gave me great advice and was super friendly. I thought everything was fine. I've suffered through many of the things Chester also suffered through, I understand that darkness.”
Shaddix goes on to say that he feels sorry for those going through the same situation. “Sometimes it feels like everything is too heavy and you can’t cope with life. It’s hard sometimes. I’m just glad I’m breathing because that hit me really hard.”
The vocalist says that staying sober and the support of his family were essential for him to overcome that. "The idea of losing my children or not being here for them and my wife scared me."
Papa Roach will continue their tour promoting their latest album, Crooked Teeth, in 2018 across the United States.
