The duo talks about Dio's influence
Jack Black and Kyle Gass's band, Tenacious D, was interviewed on the Music For Good website to talk about their Ronnie James Dio tribute album, "This Is Your Life." The duo discussed the singer's influence on the band and on Heavy Metal.
Black commented: “Dio was the master. He was the Pavarotti of heavy metal vocalists. He had incredible melodies and a very powerful voice, like a lion's roar. And he was also one of the nicest guys I've ever had the honor of knowing. Nobody came close to his greatness. On stage or off.”

Gass spoke about "The Last In Line ," the song the band covers for the tribute album: "It's difficult to choose just one Dio song. But this one particularly appealed to us." Gass also spoke about Dio's participation in the film "The Pick of Destiny": "Of course, Dio has always been an inspiration to us. His performance in the film was a magical moment for us. We will miss him forever."
