Jack Black invites Britney Spears over after his cover of "...Baby One More Time" goes viral.

A cover of the Britney Spears classic is featured in the star's new film.

Jack Black continues to exude charisma, this time during the premiere of Kung Fu Panda 4. Recently, a video went viral showing Black and his Tenacious D , Kyle Glass , singing and dancing to a cover of Britney Spears , "...Baby One More Time."

The video generated some speculation about the version of the song shared on social media. The panda emoji in the caption of the post raised rumors about the track's presence in Jack Black's new film, the fourth movie in the Kung Fu Panda .

According to The Hollywood Reporter , the singer confirmed last Sunday, the 3rd, at the film's premiere in Los Angeles, that the song is on the film's soundtrack, more precisely, in the end credits.

Black added that the choice of the pop diva was his own initiative, after the director, Mike Mitchell , requested a Tenacious D song for the film's ending.

“Our director, Mike, said, ‘Hey, we’d love to have a Tenacious D song in the credits,’ and I thought, ‘Really? Can we play Britney Spears?’ He agreed and said he wanted ‘…Baby One More Time’ because it has a Kung Fu vibe.”

At the same event, Jack Black took the opportunity to send a message of affection to Britney Spears, as reported by Entertainment Tonight . "Britney, if you're watching, I love you. We're very proud of this, I hope you enjoy it too."

Spears is familiar with this type of exposure on Instagram, thanks to her energetic dance videos, filmed from her home and full of kicking and spinning moves. Black then stated that he was just a phone call away should the singer be interested in collaborating on a dance video. “I’m here! I’m ready when you are. I’m waiting by the phone. I can kick too! Not as well as Britney, but I’ve got my moves.”

In Jack Black's viral post, some even asked for a full Tenacious D album of Britney Spears covers. Of course, the singer couldn't resist showing off his dance moves at the premiere of his new movie.

Kung Fu Panda 4 premieres in Brazilian cinemas on March 21, 2024.
