Ivan Moody commented on the help he received to maintain his sobriety

Five Finger Death Punch vocalist Ivan Moody celebrated one year of sobriety last weekend.

Bandmate and bassist Chris Kael congratulated him on the milestone via Instagram. He wrote: “Join me in celebrating Ivan Moody’s One Year of Sobriety. Nearly 75% of those who begin the journey to sobriety don’t make it to a full year. I’ve seen firsthand the work he’s done these past 365 consecutive days. I’ve witnessed the positive and wonderful changes in him over the past year. I’m proud of you, my friend. As are the countless people you’ve inspired along the way.”

Moody had previously said that he went through rehab more than five times before reaching the one-year sobriety mark. He admitted that he was "going back and forth for a while, stopping for three months and then relapsing.".

He also thanked some colleagues who helped him reach the milestone. “ Rob Halford [ Judas Priest ] is the person I called a lot during this recovery period. I think he’s been sober for 40 years now – maybe even more than that. Jamey Jasta [ Hatebreed ] is another one. He’s been sober for 18 years. Jonathan Davis too, and so on. I’m very lucky and blessed to have them on my team.”
