Ivan Moody reconsidered his retirement after generating a huge reaction that surprised all his fans. The announcement had been made during a show in Denver.

Through a live broadcast on social media, which can be watched in full at the end of this article, Moody clarified the situation for fans: “I can’t give up. I won’t. To be honest with you, I think I would die. Maybe not physically, but my soul would definitely disappear, and I didn’t come here for that. There’s a fire inside me that will never go out. Music and heavy metal are all I’ve ever had and known. I was made for this. When the rest of the world kept betting against me – underdog, day after day – I found solace and refuge in bands like Metallica and Pantera . I’m not going anywhere. Maybe I was a little impulsive… I hope everyone forgives me.”

The lead singer of Five Finger Death Punch previously stated that he would retire from the music industry after the band's final album to be more present in his children's lives. Their presence at the show greatly influenced his statement. However, the artist eventually acknowledged that his bandmates are also his family and that his children, like him, will have their own lives in the future.

“I really sat down and absorbed everything over the last few days. And I want to apologize. Yes. I’m sorry. I’m sorry because music is all I have, and I don’t think my children would respect me in the future if I gave up doing what brought me here,” Ivan concluded.
