Ivan Moody, vocalist of Five Finger Death Punch , celebrated three years of sobriety on March 8th. During the week he commemorated the milestone, he took to social media to share his success with fans through a moving video in which he reveals his past struggles with eating disorders.
“Originally I wanted to make this for people who suffer from eating disorders,” he said in the video, “It’s something I’ve had myself. And many of you don’t know this, but my weight has fluctuated quite a bit in recent years.”
The vocalist revealed his struggle with alcohol in 2018 during an interview with WEBN, saying that he went through periods of "ups and downs," but that he was committed to recovery. Moody also revealed that he had come close to death after an alcohol-induced coma and that on that occasion he woke up surrounded by paramedics with his daughter holding his hand. Now, he celebrates three years of progress.
