In this week's Wikimetal poll, the riff from "Iron Man" was voted the best of Black Sabbath's career with 22% of the votes. "Paranoid" and "Heaven & Hell" , respectively, with 14%.
"Iron Man " is part of 'Paranoid', Black Sabbath's second album, released in 1970. Upon hearing the song's riff for the first time, Ozzy commented that it resembled the sound of a large steel man walking. From there, Geezer Butler worked on the lyrics and named the song " Iron Man" .
