Iron Maiden will soon begin rehearsals for their upcoming world tour, Run For Your Lives , which celebrates the band's 50th anniversary .
Furthermore, this will be the first tour in a long time not to feature Nicko McBrain on drums. The musician retired from performing on December 7, 2024, during a show in São Paulo .
British Lion drummer Simon Dawson will take over the role.
In a conversation on SiriusXM with host Eddie Trunk [via Blabbermouth ], guitarist Adrian Smith answered what fans can expect from the shows.
“It will be great. We’ll have a new setlist. We did The Future Past over the last two years, so it will be something completely new. I believe the fans will like it. We’ll start rehearsing in the next few weeks. It’s just a matter of preparing for it and hitting the road again. And, to be honest, I can’t wait.”
He adds: “After the first show, everything will be on the internet.” “Everyone will know the setlist, the stage, and our mistakes. That’s how things work now. But yes, it will be special, I believe.”
Iron Maiden usually holds their rehearsals at a location close to the first date of the tour, which begins on May 27th in Budapest, Hungary.
For 2025, there will only be European dates – including a show at London Stadium Steve Harris 's favorite team . Then, in 2026, it should go to other parts of the world.
