In addition to the name, the company has been using the band's trademark without authorization
Iron Maiden has filed a lawsuit against 3D Realms over the game Ion Maiden . In addition to the game's name, the company was also using the band's trademark in various ways without authorization from Bruce Dickinson and company.
According to The Guardian , the lawsuit alleges that the game's title is causing "confusion among consumers" and that it "is attempting to capitalize on the band's notoriety."
The game still has a line of products such as t-shirts and drinks, even though the band has not granted the rights to exploit its brand in favor of the project. The company responded to the accusation saying that it will "explore its options as soon as it receives official notification of the lawsuit.".
