Iron Maiden and Soundgarden finished in fourth and fifth place, respectively, in the voting held on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame website this year.
George Michael won the vote with over one million votes, while Cyndi Lauper came in second with over 900,000 votes. Warren Zevon came in third with 634,000 votes.
The five best artists selected by the public at vote.rockhall.com will make up a "fan ballot" that will be counted along with the other ballots to select the 2023 nominees.
The announcement of the artists who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame will be made in May, and they will be inducted at the end of the year, according to Rolling Stone.
The class of 2023 will be chosen by a group of over 1,000 artists, historians, and music industry members selected by Rock Hall as voters.
Iron Maiden also came in fourth place in the fan vote for the 2021 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction class.
