Ed Force One crashed at Santiago airport.
Iron Maiden's famous plane, Ed Force One, collided with a tow truck while taxiing at Santiago Airport in Chile.
Although it damaged a large part of the aircraft and injured 2 tow operators, no one from the Maiden crew suffered any injuries.

The legendary English band, which will be performing in Brazil starting next week, has issued the following statement.

"Ed Force One was severely damaged on the ground at Comodoro Arturo Merino Benitez Airport (Santiago, Chile)."
The shows in Argentina, tomorrow and on Tuesday, are expected to go ahead as planned.
Ed Force One was this morning attached to a tow truck to be taken for refueling before flying over the Andes to Cordoba for the next show.
Video shows the full extent of Iron Maiden's plane.
While moving, the steering pin, which is part of the mechanism connecting the tow truck to the plane, appears to have fallen off. Upon turning, the plane lost its steering and collided severely with the tow truck, seriously damaging the landing gear, two of the plane's engines, and injuring two tow truck operators, both of whom were taken to the hospital.
We expect, of course, that they will make a full and speedy recovery, and we will be closely monitoring their progress. Aviation engineers are on site assessing the damage, but their initial report is that the engines suffered extensive damage and will require a lengthy period of maintenance and possibly both (engines) will need to be replaced.
We are currently taking all necessary steps to arrive at the venue for tomorrow's show in Cordoba with the band, crew, and all equipment intact. Fortunately, the 20 tons of equipment had not yet been loaded onto Ed Force One at the time of the incident. While this is tragic for our beautiful plane, we do not believe this incident will cause any changes to our scheduled shows, including the next two shows in Cordoba and Buenos Aires. And we hope to find a new Ed Force One to continue our adventure with you in the near future. We will keep everyone informed as we receive more information, so please continue to check this website for official updates.
To conclude this rather lengthy statement, our visit to Chile was a huge success, with 58,000 fans coming to the show, as brilliant as ever, at the National Stadium last night. We love you all.”
