Iron Maiden 's Trooper beer has surpassed 3.5 million pints (1 pint = approximately 568 ml) sold since its launch a year ago. This milestone has increased sales for Robinsons Brewery in the UK by 8%.
The brewery's marketing director, David Bremner, revealed the statistic at a brewers' congress. According to Bremner, what's remarkable is that Trooper reached its current sales figures without spending anything on advertising. The Iron Maiden beer is Robinsons Brewery's biggest brand.
The brewery has already received other proposals to launch beers from rock bands, such as Motörhead. Bremner explained that the Iron Maiden launch was specific: "Bruce is known and a fanatic about beer, so it was a truly authentic partnership .
