With the pandemic leaving the future uncertain, Iron Maiden will not be performing the shows scheduled for this year, as recommended by health experts , and will only return to the stage in 2021.

In an announcement on social media, Rod Smallwood , the band's manager, clarified the decision and the future of the shows in a statement, which can be read below.

"I hope you and your loved ones are safe and well, wherever you are, and my continued thanks to everyone for being patient with us.".

Due to the ongoing health problems worldwide due to Covid-19, we regret to inform you that Iron Maiden will now not be performing any shows until June 2021.

However, we are now in a position to provide details of our tour plans regarding the shows we were hoping to play this year.

First of all, we are pleased to say that we have managed to reschedule all of our Legacy Of The Beast Tour for June/July 2021, with the exception of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Weert and Zurich, which unfortunately could not be rescheduled for that period. To complete the tour itinerary, we have added 2 more shows in Arnhem and Antwerp.

We are inviting back all the bands that were supposed to play with us this year. Where any band is unable to commit due to their own commitments and rescheduling, we will seek other suitable and equally qualified artists, but most are already confirmed.

Unfortunately, it wasn't possible to reschedule the festival dates. This is mainly because we already had an extremely busy year planned for 2021 and, as I can imagine, a great deal of future planning has already been done and there's a lot to do within the schedule and logistics. The band enjoys playing festivals, so rest assured we'll be back to as many as possible at another time.

Regarding what was supposed to be the opening leg of the 2020 tour, which was to begin on May 1st in Perth, Australia and visit New Zealand, the Philippines, Japan, Dubai, and Israel, we are currently working on a possible return to these countries as we are able, in some way, in the first half of 2022. More news will be released at the appropriate time.

The band is doing well and sends all their best wishes. They are looking forward to returning to the stage next year and seeing you all. Please continue to take care of yourselves and be smart. – Rod
