In February 2021, Iron Maiden was listed by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as one of 16 possible nominees for this year's induction.

Besides Steve Harris , the other 15 nominees on the list were: Foo Fighters, Rage Against The Machine, Todd Rundgren, New York Dolls, Mary J. Blige, Kate Bush, Devo, The Go-Go's, Jay-Z, Chaka Khan, Carole King, Fela Kuti, LL Cool J, Tina Turner, and Dionne Warwick .

The open voting for fans ended yesterday, and Iron Maiden came in 4th place. The top 5 selected by the public continue in the process and will now compete with others chosen by the foundation, to finally determine the names of the artists who will be inducted in 2021.

Tina Turner received the most fan votes, with Fela Kuti in second place. The Go-Go's finished in 3rd place and the Foo Fighters in 5th, just behind Iron Maiden in 4th.

This is the first time Iron Maiden has been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
