Iron Maiden kicked off the European leg of their Legacy of the Beast last Saturday night, the 26th, in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. See the full setlist and videos of the performance below.
The 16-song show featured tracks the band hadn't performed in years, such as "Flight of Icarus," which had last been played in 1986, and "The Clansman" and "Sign of the Cross," from the Blaze Bayley , which hadn't been performed live since 2003 and 2001, respectively.
As for the special effects, the show featured an energetic performance by Bruce Dickinson , who used a flamethrower in "Flight of Icarus" and engaged in a sword battle with the mascot Eddie during "Iron Maiden."
The tour's name is linked to a range of projects undertaken by the band in recent years, including a comic book series, a video game, and a pinball machine. Ron Smallwood, Iron Maiden's manager, explained that not linking the tour's name to any album allows them to be "more creative, especially with Eddie.".
“It allows the band to play new songs and some classics that we know the fans want to hear,” he continued. “That way, the feeling remains fresh, not only for the fans but also for the group.”
Iron Maiden has shows scheduled in Europe until August 10th, when they will finish their tour of the continent in London. Information about shows in other countries has not yet been announced. Recently, Bruce made a statement that hinted that the tour would include Brazil.
