Iron Maiden will have an official documentary to celebrate the band's 50th anniversary, directed by Malcolm Venville . Universal Pictures Content Group announced that the film will be released in theaters around the world in late 2025.

Documenting their long career, the as-yet-untitled film will feature interviews with current and former members of the band—including the final interview with Paul Di'Anno , who passed away last year . Musicians such as Gene Simmons of Kiss , Lars Ulrich of Metallica , and actor Javier Bardem will also be present with testimonials. In addition to rare archival footage, the documentary will also feature new animated sequences with Iron Maiden's legendary mascot, Eddie.

The band's manager, Rod Smallwood , said that Venville and his team were given unrestricted access to the band, fans, and fellow musicians . "We believe they will thrill not only music fans, but also anyone who loves a story of an underdog overcoming the odds."

The band will also mark its 50th anniversary by embarking on its 26th world tour. The first leg of the Run for Your Lives kicks off on May 27 in Budapest and continues through Europe until August 2, including a date at London Stadium on June 28.
