Iron Maiden 's new music video , " The Writing On The Wall ," has been generating a lot of buzz. Besides the mysterious narrative containing biblical references, the band scattered numerous Easter eggs throughout the video, and fans have been racking their brains to find them all – we at Wikimetal have compiled a list of all the ones we found.
Between apocalyptic scenarios, banquets in the middle of the desert, and the birth of a new Eddie , there's no doubt that what Iron Maiden created was practically a short film in music video format. In a recent interview with Kerrang!, Bruce Dickinson , who wrote the story for the project, revealed that the inspiration for the work came from the industrial metal band Rammstein .
“I said to Rod [Maiden's manager], 'Have you seen the video for Rammstein's 'Deutschland'?' To me, that video is groundbreaking and amazing. I'm not suggesting we do something like that because we're not Rammstein, but think about what we can do that has a similar impact for us,” recounts Bruce Dickinson. “So I wrote the script, twisted it a bit, and added a happy ending. Well, sort of – Adam and Eve start over, but with a warning from Eddie: 'I'll still find you in the end.'”
The music video for “Deutschland,” which inspired Bruce Dickinson, is a nine-minute cinematic work by Rammstein, packed with historical references. Watch it below:
