The members of Iron Maiden will be named Honorary Visitors of Argentina this Friday, October 11th.
The tribute, an initiative of journalists and fans, will take place the day before the group's show in Buenos Aires.
The six musicians will be welcomed at the Chamber of Deputies by Argentine heavy metal bands and specialized journalists.
At the event, they will receive plaques certifying that, starting next Friday, they will be honored visitors to the country. The members of parliament justified the tribute by stating that Iron Maiden has proven to "exert a legitimate influence among musicians and fans everywhere, thus becoming one of the most important references in the history of rock.".
Iron Maiden visited Argentina for the first time in 1992. This time, the band's show will be held at the Vélez Sarsfield stadium.
