In the latest Wikimetal poll, Iron Maiden was voted the band with the best trio of consecutive albums – “The Number Of The Beast”, “Piece Of Mind” and “Powerslave” – with 28% of the votes. In second and third place were Metallica with “Kill 'Em All”, “Ride The Lightning” and “Master Of Puppets” (24%) and Black Sabbath with “Black Sabbath”, “Paranoid” and “Master Of Reality” (18%).

Released in '82, '83 and '84 respectively, the three albums mark Bruce Dickinson's introduction to the band and the peak of Iron Maiden's success.

"The Number Of The Beast" made history as the band's first album to reach the top of the album charts in England. "Piece Of Mind," the first album with Nicko McBrain on drums, debuted Iron Maiden on the US charts. Meanwhile, "Powerslave," an album featuring " 2 Minutes to Midnight ," "Aces High," and "Rime of The Ancient Mariner," preceded the band's biggest tour ever, the "World Slavery Tour."
