This Thursday, the 6th, Iron Maiden announced a new tour. It's called The Future Past Tour , and it's expected to focus on the albums Somewhere In Time (1986) and Senjutsu (2022).
In a statement, Steve Harris explained the decision to give greater prominence to the 1986 album and said that the format of the Legacy of the Beast Tour – with the Japanese Palace stage and the Senjutsu as the opening act – “doesn’t make sense” to be repeated on a tour for the new album.
“We decided to revisit Somewhere In Time because this tour didn’t appear in the various historical tour retrospectives we’ve done over the years,” he says. “They were based on our concert videos from the 80s and, unfortunately, we didn’t film this tour (blame the manager!). We’ve received many requests from fans over the years for many tracks, so now we’re going to play them, plus, of course, some others that we know you’ll enjoy! It will also be particularly satisfying to finally play some of the most epic tracks from Senjutsu . It’s been a long wait! 2023 will be an exciting time and we’re really looking forward to seeing everyone again in the UK, Ireland and Europe.”
There is still no information regarding possible dates in South America. For more information, please visit the official Iron Maiden website.
