Iron Maiden , in partnership with The Royal Mint , has announced the release of a commemorative coin to mark their 50th anniversary. It is also the first official collectible to feature the band 's golden jubilee .
The Royal Mint has worked with big names in music such as Queen , David Bowie and Elton John .
The item's design, created by the band's official artist Albert “Akirant” Quirantes, features the mascot Eddie Run For Your Lives World Tour version Iron Maiden 's career, albums, and tours .
The models were made from various materials such as bronze, silver, and gold. Prices range from £18.50 [approximately R$137 at the current exchange rate] to £7,520 [approximately R$55,000]. More information about the complete collection can be found here .

“Having Eddie on an official UK coin is a continuation of his incredible odyssey since we unearthed him in 1980. We’ve been on stamps , beer bottles, airplane wings and now on a circulating coin.”
“The details that Akirant managed to incorporate into the design are incredible. There are subtle references to virtually every chapter of our journey as a band. We are therefore very honored that the Royal Mint has chosen to celebrate Iron Maiden's 50th anniversary in such a unique way.”.
