Bruce Dickinson , vocalist of Iron Maiden , recently spoke with Raymond Flotat of Mxdwn about his latest solo album, The Mandrake Project (2024), his comic book and other topics.

When asked about the possibility of taking a break from his projects, he replied ( via Brave Words ): “When your destiny is to create, there’s nothing better than being in this position. And, so far – playing wood! – I’m loving it all. Musically and in other creative areas, like comics, for example. For me, these things connect naturally.”

He went on to say that "when you're creating good things and having fun, why stop?". The vocalist then says he loves what he does and therefore doesn't believe in taking a break from his work.

When asked about a new four-month solo tour, even after a series of tours with Maiden, he said: “Work is something you do without liking it, something that weighs you down. I love it here!”.

Bruce also stated: “It’s gratifying to realize that I’m building my own audience… I’ve started to notice that people really like my music, not just because I’m the lead singer of Iron Maiden.”.
