Iron Maiden 's stage on The Legacy of the Beast has impressive set design elements, but things don't always go as planned. The plane that flies over the band during "Aces High" experienced technical difficulties during a show last Monday, the 17th, as reported by Blabbermouth .
The band was performing in Massachusetts, in the United States, when technical problems prevented the life-size replica of the Supermarine Spitfire single-engine plane from making an appearance for "Aces High," the song that closes Iron Maiden's show on their current tour.
Amateur videos from fans present at the show reveal that the stage prop aircraft was inert and with its wings at an odd angle during the first part of the song, with the propeller not working and making low passes over the stage.
Bruce Dickinson can be seen clearly confused by the absence of his usual prop, until the frontman decides to imitate a plane and flap his wings like a bird in good humor.
