Senjutsu Iron Maiden 's latest album , has divided opinions since its release in September. The latest artist to share his thoughts on the band's 17th album is Blaze Bayley , who took over vocals from Bruce Dickinson during the albums The X Factor (1995) and Virtual XI (1998).

During his appearance on Metal Musikast , Bayley spoke about his favorite tracks and the feeling the album evoked in him. “I only listened to it a couple of times, I didn’t have much time. But I liked what I heard,” he says. “I like 'Death of the Celts' and 'Hell and High Water'. I think the other one too [supposedly 'Hell on Earth'] and the single ['The Writing On The Wall']. There are some really good songs on the album.”

Despite liking the result, Bayley adds that Senjutsu isn't an album that "gives itself easily" on the first listen. "I think you have to give it a chance – there's a lot going on and the vibe changes quite a bit with the notes they chose and the instrumental," he opines. "I think it's not easy to understand, but I think it's a good album. I really liked what I've heard so far."
