The mystery is over! Iron Maiden Belshazzar's Feast campaign : the release of "The Writing On The Wall," a new single!
Even before the video premiered at 2 PM this Thursday, the 15th, more than 28,000 people were waiting on the band's YouTube channel. Almost six years after the release of *The Book of Souls* , their sixteenth album, the group is back with a new song and an animated music video. It's still unknown if the band's next album will be named after the event, but the track is already available on digital platforms .
The animation's story was created by Bruce Dickinson , while the music was composed by the vocalist alongside Adrian Smith . Kevin Shirley , responsible for producing all of the band's releases since Brave New World (2000), continued in the role with Steve Harris as co-producer of the track.
promotion for the release began in June, shortly after the announcement of Dickinson Heavy Metal Truants 2021 circuit , a charity event held annually around the Download Festival in the United Kingdom.

Posters announcing Belshazzar's Feast appeared across the country, and it wasn't long before the band's frontman was spotted wearing a t-shirt for the fictional event. Fans quickly deciphered today's date, July 15th, with some announcement or release, until the officially made Maiden finally confirmed the times.
