The Iranian band is accused of spreading ideas contrary to the local regime

The musicians from the Iranian heavy metal band Confess have been sentenced to prison.

Nikan Khosravi and Arash Ilkhani had already been arrested and are now in exile in Norway. In total, the musicians have received combined sentences of 14 years in prison and 74 lashes due to their compositions. Iranian authorities consider the lyrics to contain criminal content.

In the official document, the artists are accused of insulting Islam, spreading ideas contrary to the regime, and giving interviews to opposition media outlets.

In 2017, the duo were released from prison after paying bail of US$30,000 (R$114,000) each. Last Saturday, they released the single "Evin," inspired by the Iranian prison where they were held.
