The band Ira! had four of its shows from the Acústico 20 anos canceled in the southern region of Brazil. Through a statement on Instagram , published last Wednesday, the 9th, the production company Scar Centro Cultural announced the reason.
The production company claims there was a high demand for cancellations of tickets already purchased for the shows. In the statement, the production company also affirms that "artists should only take the stage to present their music and talents.".
The affected cities were: Jaraguá do Sul, Blumenau, Pelotas, and Caxias do Sul.
The whole situation arose after comments made by vocalist Nasi during a band performance in Contagem, Minas Gerais, on March 29th.
At the time, the musician was booed when he shouted "No Amnesty" in reference to those accused of the coup attempts of January 8, 2023. In response to the booing, Nasi asked Bolsonaro supporters to leave the premises .

However, in an interview with Billboard Brazil, the singer gave his version of events. He mentioned that the cancellations were made by mutual agreement and claims to have been bombarded by fascists.
"These shows were canceled by mutual agreement with the promoter. Because there was a bombing by these fascists. Because they act in a fascist manner."
"The guy wasn't even going to the show! These guys who are being a nuisance, little robots... Everyone knows how the hate cabinet operates, right? Soon they'll pick another one to scapegoat. Honestly, Ira! came out bigger than they went into this story."
Furthermore, the vocalist mentions the controversial episode and comments:
“We are democratic. We went through a dictatorship. What I meant was this: I don't want a fascist audience. Now, if a fascist, far-right audience wants to consume my music, what can I do? I can't do anything. It's not to my liking, you know? I don't want it. There are other bands. They'll enjoy Ultraje a Rigor.”.
