Viper has a lot of history, and you can tell that at the shows. During our first rehearsal, I was sure we could do something really cool for the audience.”

In preparation for show , we interviewed each member of the band to find out what they thought and what we can expect from this final encounter. Now, Hugo Mariutti answers our questions!

WM: As we all know, this will truly be the last show of the To Live Again Tour. But what the fans really want to know is, will it be Viper's last show?
HM: I believe the best answer to this question is that we should always approach a show as if it were the last of our lives, because we don't know what will happen the next day. In terms of camaraderie, we could stay together for years, because the chemistry between everyone is really great. Since we always planned to only do this
tour, we didn't talk about the future or anything, we just wanted to enjoy this moment in the best way possible. I think it was hard to imagine that Viper would return with this lineup after so long, so it's impossible to say whether it will be or not be the band's last show.

WM: What was, for you, the highlight of this series of 25 shows?
HM: I think all the shows were great, because you could see the happiness on people's faces at seeing something they never imagined they could see again or for the first time. Viper has a lot of history and you can feel that in the shows. It would be unfair to mention just one moment, or one show in particular. I believe the highlight was our first rehearsal, because I was sure we could do something really cool for the people.

WM: What would you say to the fans who traveled miles to see the band's show and to those who traveled miles to see several shows?
HM: That's one of the most beautiful things about our profession. People from all over the country, traveling thousands of kilometers to attend a show, and even having to face hours of travel, were the happiest people at the show. That's priceless. This affection is what makes us continue down this path, even with many obstacles. Thank you is too little for these people!

WM: What was the biggest lesson and learning experience you took away from this tour?
HM: That we have the best audience in the world here in Brazil, and that fills us with pride!!!

WM: What do you think would have happened to Viper if Andre hadn't left after that show at Dama Xoc in São Paulo so many years ago?
HM: That's a very difficult question, but I believe the band followed its own path and Andre followed his, and most importantly, they always respected each other, remained friends, and that's why they're here together today.

WM: One of Viper's greatest successes, the excellent album Evolution, was released exactly 20 years ago. Can fans expect some kind of celebration to commemorate this great milestone and this great album?
HM: If Felipe says we're going to play all three albums, we'll have to play them (Laughs).

WM: In 2013, the release of the DVD and double CD Live in São Paulo was already announced. How are the preparations going for this big release? Is Viper preparing something special for this occasion?
HM: I'm sure it will be a historic DVD, and we're putting a lot of effort into making sure the audio and video have the best possible quality. We have plenty of time until April, but I don't think it should go unnoticed. If I'm not mistaken, Wikimetal is preparing a party at Palmeiras' new arena to celebrate the release (laughs).

WM: Will you be recording anything at The Farewell Concert in São Paulo on December 2nd for the Live in São Paulo DVD?
HM: This question could be directed to our friends at the best metal website in Brazil, Wikimetal!!!

WM: The To Live Again Tour was a different kind of tour, marked by emotion. It was clear to the fans who saw the show how much fun the band was having on stage and how you all remain friends after so many years. What was the point(s) of the show that moved you the most?
HM: The moment when the second part of the show begins, with the Theatre, is particularly, for me, the most emotional moment. The beginning of Cry From The Edge, which we started doing sitting in front of the stage, I think is an extremely memorable moment and gives me goosebumps.

WM: Will the To Live Again Tour leave you with fond memories?
HM: Very much so!!! I made some real new friends, people you can count on in your worst and best moments. I certainly won't forget this tour, because I remember listening to Viper on cassette tapes and I could never have dreamed of being part of such a special moment for the band. That's why I always say Thank you Viper, Thank you Martin!!!

VIPER's tour closing show takes place on December 2nd at Via Marquês. Tickets are on sale at Ticket Brasil .
