The British band Inglorious released We Will Ride , their fourth studio album, in February, but they already have a new project! This time, it's a cover album of female artists from various genres, with a version of Miley Cyrus to introduce the project.
The chosen track is from the album Plastic Hearts , which topped the US rock charts. With more weight and many textures in Nathan James' voice, the version promises to please fans of the original and classic hard rock.
“Miley has a lot of great songs, but she’s clearly a rocker at heart. We love the female empowerment in this modern classic; it has one of those choruses you just can’t help but sing along to,” James comments. “First of all, we know it’s impossible to make these songs better; the originals are perfect and the performances legendary, so recognizing that we wouldn’t even come close to that magic took the pressure off and we just had fun.”.

The album Heroine will be released on September 10th by Frontiers Music . The project was conceived as a tribute to musicians who influenced the band musically or vocally, featuring rock 'n' roll versions of pop stars like Whitney Houston, Avril Lavigne , and Christina Aguilera , as well as covers of fellow artists in the genre, including classics by Tina Turner, Heart , Joan Jett , and versions of contemporary bands like Evanescence, Alanis Morissette , and Halestorm .
“People assume that the singers I idolize are rock and blues men, but they couldn’t be more wrong,” the vocalist continued. “Each of these artists has inspired me as an artist, songwriter, singer, or person. I love the fire that all these women bring to their music, and that’s why we’d like to thank them.”.
The record will be pressed on vinyl in two exclusive colors, with £1 from each unit going to the UK-based charity Women's Aid, which supports girls and women.
