Infectious Grooves records first song with Jay Weinberg.

Jay Weinberg, former drummer of Slipknot, entered the studio for the first time with Infectious Grooves

Infectious Grooves recorded their first song in the studio with Jay Weinberg , former drummer of Slipknot . The musician joined the band in January. The track also features Adam Siegel , a former member of the band.

On their social media, the group celebrated the recording with a post: “Yesterday Infectious Grooves was back in the studio, recording a new track and we can’t wait for you to hear it. We even brought our old guitarist (and incredible artist) Adam Siegel out of 'retirement' to help write this jam (he wasn’t photographed because he had to leave early).”.

Mike Muir of Suicidal Tendencies , Robert Trujillo of Metallica , and Jay Weinberg are part of the group. In addition to studio recordings, the band will play some shows in the United States and Australia. For these shows they will be joined by guitarists Dean Pleasants, also of Suicidal Tendencies , and Dave Kushner, former member of Velvet Revolver .

Jay Weinberg's entry into Infectious Groove

“My middle son, who’s 14, was asking and said, ‘If Brooks can’t get it, who are you going to hire to play drums?’ And I said, ‘We’re not sure. We’re putting together a list.’ He said, ‘Are you going to ask Jay?’ So, my son, his two favorite drummers are Lars [Ulrich] and Jay Weinberg and stuff. I hadn’t even thought about Jay. And I knew he’d had surgery. And I looked [at his social media] and thought, ‘It’s January 1st.’ And he said [in a social media post], ‘I’m walking for the first time [since surgery] and I thought, ‘Oh.’ And my son said, ‘You should call Jay. I saw him. He’s playing drums again. You should get him. Talk to him.’ And I said, ‘I don’t have his number.’ He said, ‘You could get it. Robert probably understood.’” Mike recounted.

In a recent interview with the Australian website Metal Ross , Mike Muir explained how they arrived at the name Jay Weinberg for the drums of Infectious Grooves. The name came up in a conversation Mike had with his middle son about a possible drummer for the band.
