In This Moment has released the single “Godmode”, the title track from their new album, scheduled for release on October 27th.
The music is one of the group's most diverse. Opening with an electronic pulse, the band follows a completely electro-industrial path in the first half of the track, with the chorus taking a more metallic turn.
“The lyrics came from a powerful, tribal, and fascinating feeling,” vocalist Maria Brink in a press release. “The fact that [guitarist] Chris [ Howorth ] impresses me so much that I can literally send him a voice message and he sends it back to me in the form of music shows how in sync we are. It’s been a long time since I screamed an entire verse of a song. I wanted to release a lot of stuff and it felt visceral.”
Godmode was written primarily during the pandemic and recorded at Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas, Nevada, with production by Kane Churko ( Ozzy Osbourne, Papa Roach, Five Finger Death Punch ) and Tyler Bates ( John Wick, Jerry Cantrell, Bush ).
