In 2014, Mick Mars , guitarist for Mötley Crüe , promised a free concert if the band reunited. The statement was made during an interview on The Metal Show , hosted by Don Jamieson .
Five years later, the group did something unusual and broke the contract that stipulated they would not reunite after their farewell tour, the Final Tour , which had its last performance on December 31, 2015.
Now, Jamieson has retrieved the clip from the show where Mick Mars says, “Let’s do this: if the band gets back together, I’ll invite the whole world to see us for free,” and shared it on his social media. “I have great news… Free tickets for all Mötley Crüe fans!”
The news didn't please the members of Mötley Crüe, of course. Mars felt compelled to release a statement explaining that there would be no free shows from the group. "Obviously I was joking when I said those things on The Metal Show . But of course I said that with the certainty that we wouldn't be touring again. I never imagined we'd have a new generation wanting to see us live."
