The musician also tells the story behind the band's name.
Igor Cavalera, former drummer of Sepultura, revealed during an interview on Beats 1's Start Making Sense program that the band was formed from the inspiration that came from listening to Motörhead.
“They were one of the bands that we [Igor and his brother Max] listened to and thought, 'Wow! These guys are way ahead of their time' because they were mixing the energy of Punk with Metal and Rock 'N' Roll ,” he says.
Igor goes on to say that Motörhead's unique sound inspired the founding of Sepultura, from their sound to their name.
Sepultura was created from the song "Dancing On Your Grave" from the 1983 album Another Perfect Day , which mentions a tomb, a grave... a sepulcher.
The musician recalls that when the name came up, Max and Igor went to tell their grandmother the news, but she didn't approve: "She made the sign of the cross with her hand, and then we knew we were on the right track."
Cavalera Conspiracy released their latest album in November 2017 called Psychosis through Napalm Records.
