Igor Bollos , a renowned jazz guitarist, explores new horizons through heavy metal on his debut album, Pandemonium .
Before the album's release, Bollos launched the tracks "Demon's Toll" and "Ilusão" ; one leaning towards extreme metal and the other in a power ballad format, demonstrating his musical versatility.
Igor Bollos moves through a wide variety of styles, creating works that span genres such as jazz, fusion, rock, MPB (Brazilian Popular Music), funk, R&B, pop, blues, and heavy metal. He is also an openly LGBTQIA+ artist, something very rare in the Brazilian instrumental music scene, being one of the few who raise this flag.
Pandemonium is the result of a project that began in mid-2013, and after a long hiatus, returned in 2019 in full force. A large part of the music was composed and arranged by Igor when he was only 16 years old; however, life took the musician down other paths, causing him to put the project on hold for several years.
At 22, Igor returned to producing what would be his first album with a sound geared towards metal, with subtle elements from his jazz experience, mainly in the solos, which were 100% improvised. Focusing on heavy instrumental music, the album has 9 tracks ranging from ballads and extreme songs to reinterpretations of existing music, and features special appearances by great musicians such as Michel Leme , Mounir Sobh , Kay Matos , Gio Amorim , Thomaz Souza , and Jonathan Vargas .
“Releasing the album Pandemonium has brought me a lot of satisfaction and a feeling of accomplishment, especially since it's my first metal album and involves new situations I've never experienced in my career, such as recording music videos and producing a complete album practically alone and in a homemade, totally DIY way,” comments Igor Bollos.
