Iggy Pop releases song inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic; check out “Dirty Little Virus”

"If there were a Man of the Year, it would be the virus. So, I wrote these lyrics," says the artist.

Like many artists, Iggy Pop is influenced by the events around him, and during 2020, it's impossible to find someone whose life wasn't changed in some way by the COVID-19 pandemic.

With this, the artist releases the track "Dirty Little Virus," and explains the intention and inspiration behind the song. "I was motivated to write a straightforward composition, nothing too emotional or direct, more like something journalistic."

“Who, what, how, where. I left out the ‘why’ because it gets too complex, but I put it the way I felt about it,” Pop continues in a video accompanying the track. “It was an obstacle for me. It’s a big thing that’s happening in my life, in everyone’s life, I’ve been considering it for almost a year now. If there was a Man of the Year, it would be the virus. So, I wrote this lyric.”
