Iggy Pop performed last Monday, the 9th, alongside Duff McKagan , bassist of Guns N' Roses , Chad Smith , drummer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers , and Josh Klinghoffer , former guitarist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Together, they debuted the band The Losers . The performance, which took place on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, can be seen at the end of this article.

The performance this time was of the lead single “Frenzy”. It is part of the promotion for Pop's newest and 19th album, Every Loser (2023). The singer revealed to NME that “Frenzy” was chosen as the first single because it brought him the peak of joy every time he listened to it. However, the explicit parts of the song had to be censored in the live version on the American TV show.

In an interview with Classic Rock , Iggy also recounted what it was like working with these three music icons: “Before we started working they said, ‘We’ll have to have a conversation before we begin.’ Then they arrived with a gallon of vodka and, as a result of experiencing that, I got to know them very well” (transcription via Louder ).

Pop and McKagan's friendship, however, goes back a long way. “I've known Duff since he was in his early twenties. He and Slash worked on the 1990 album Brick By Brick . I used to go to Duff's house – at the time he was trying to decide between the Playboy he was dating and the weather girl – and rehearse. Once Slash was three hours late because, he said, 'I'm sorry but my snake escaped into the wall'.”
