Throughout his solo career, Iggy Pop has collaborated with numerous other artists.

Iggy Pop is one of the greatest symbols of Rock and Roll. His work with The Stooges revolutionized the genre and transformed him into a global cultural icon.

His career began when he played drums for The Iguanas, a group he formed with his school friends. After the success of The Stooges, Iggy Pop pursued his solo project and collaborated with many different artists.

To celebrate his career, we've selected some of his works that you may not know about but that deserve recognition.

1. David Bowie

The legendary David Bowie collaborated with Iggy on the Stooges' third album, Raw Power . From there, a great relationship was born and presented a new beginning for the singer, who co-produced his second solo album with Bowie, Lust for Life .

2. Alice Cooper

Iggy and Alice Cooper make quite a duo. Although their collaboration didn't become a hit, the partnership yielded a great track for the soundtrack of the movie Shocker: 100,000 Volts of Terror.

3. Debbie Harry

In 1990, Iggy joined Debbie Harry of Blondie for a cover of Cole Porter's "Well, Did You Evah!" which is part of the album Red Hot + Blue, in support of an organization that seeks to raise awareness about AIDS.

4. Sum 41

With 14 solo albums, Iggy sought out several colleagues to accompany him on his 2003 album, Skull Ring , but the most unusual collaboration was with the punk rock band Sum 41. Together, they recorded the track "Little Know It All".

5. New Order

Shortly after singing “Love Will Tear Us Apart” with the band in 2014 during a charity event, Iggy went to the studio with New Order to lend his vocals again, but this time for “Stray Dog” from the album Music Complete (2015).

6. Simple Minds

While recording his fifth studio album, Soldier , in Wales in 1979, Iggy was looking for backing vocalists to participate in some tracks. At the same time, the band Simple Minds was in the country recording the album Real to Real Cacophony and ended up being hired for the job.

7. Josh Homme

Iggy's last major collaboration was with Josh Homme, vocalist of Queens Of The Stone Age, on the album Post Pop Depression (2016), which also featured appearances by other artists, such as Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders and QOTSA keyboardist Dean Fertita.
