"I have no excuses. That was to brag," admits John Lennon's killer.

"I am very sorry for the pain I caused her [Yoko Ono]. I think about it all the time," he says.

John Lennon 's killer , Mark David Chapman , was denied parole for the eleventh time last month . And according to the Press Association , at the hearing, he apologized and admitted his intentions in killing the icon.

“I just want to reiterate that I apologize for my crime. I have no excuse. That was to brag. I think the worst crime that could happen is doing something to someone who is innocent,” Chapman states.

“He was extremely famous. I didn’t kill him because of his personality or the kind of man he was. He was a family man. He was an icon. He was someone who spoke about things that we can talk about now, and that’s great. I murdered him, to use his earlier word, because he was very, very, very famous, and that was the only reason, and I was very, very, very, very determined to boast, very selfish.”

“I want to add and emphasize this quite a bit. It was an extremely selfish act. I feel very sorry for the pain I caused her [ Yoko Ono ]. I think about it all the time,” the criminal added, stating in his testimony that he should have been sentenced to death for the act; however, this possibility was eliminated in 2007.
