Hurricanes released the single “Thunder in the Storm” this Friday, the 9th, in preparation for their debut album. The band's self-titled album will be released on June 30th via ForMusic Records .
“'Thunder in the Storm' is the densest and most introspective song on the album. It talks about the weight of life, which often feels like a thunderbolt on our backs. It was the first track on the project to be written by all the band members. I remember bringing the riff to rehearsal and the whole song coming out in the first jam session, and it stayed that way until the final recording. Because it's a very dynamic song, the live recording helped a lot, making it possible to create all the nuances present in the sound!”, said guitarist Leo Mayer .
The new track, unlike the previously released singles " The Bird's Gone " and " Purple Clouds ," reveals the musicality and versatility of the Brazilian group through a slower melody.
The debut album, in turn, will feature the sound of 70s blues and rock with a "recording philosophy that focuses on live 'eye-to-eye' performance, but with modern mixing techniques.".
In order to promote their recent and unreleased work, Hurricanes will hold an explosive launch show on July 2nd at La Iglesia Borratxeria in São Paulo. Tickets can already be purchased on the Clube do Ingresso .
