The band Hurricanes was announced this Friday, the 24th, as the opening act for The Black Crowes in São Paulo.
Known for their energetic shows and influenced by the artistic explosion of English bands from the 1970s, the band will share the stage with the American band Black Crowes at Espaço Unimed on March 14th.
Hurricanes was founded by guitarist Leo Mayer and vocalist Rodrigo Cezimbra in 2016 in southern Brazil. In 2018, they moved to São Paulo, where they met drummer Guilherme Moraes and bassist Henrique Cezarino . The band began investing in original productions, which resulted in the release of three singles, a live session at Family Mob Studio, and the composition of their debut album.
The band's first album, to be released in 2023 by ForMusic Records , focuses on the roots of blues and rock, and seeks to take the audience on an experience that blends the essence of the 70s with a contemporary sound.
