A year after the release of their self-titled debut album in 2023, the band Hurricanes announced the release of their second album, Back To The Basement .
The album will be released on September 20th, featuring eight tracks that continue the band's vintage style while also exploring new sounds.
Along with the announcement, the group is also launching a crowdfunding campaign to help cover the costs of the final stages of the album's production. The campaign includes rewards for everyone who contributes: from early downloads of the album and CD to t-shirts and tickets to the launch show. All details and rewards are available on the campaign page on the Catarse .
“The album was produced independently: sound engineering, arrangements, mixing, video recording and editing, and visual identity are processes that were and are being carried out by the band itself with the support of partners,” the band stated. “However, the final stages of production and release presented financial demands that the band cannot afford alone. From this, the idea of crowdfunding arose: an opportunity and possibility to raise funds and, at the same time, offer the public an opportunity for direct participation in the making of the album.”
For the group, this type of campaign and the support of fans is essential for the continuation of the project. “The independent music scene is still feeling the consequences of the dismantling of public cultural policies and the pandemic, and crowdfunding is proving to be a very powerful alternative to revive activity in the circuit. Your collaboration will make all the difference at a time when the band needs support the most.”
The album will include the singles “Penny In My Pocket” and “Big Eyes,” which are already available on all platforms.
