Hugo Mariutti released this Friday, the 5th, This Must Be Wrong , his fourth solo album. Produced entirely by the guitarist, the album follows The Last Dance (2023), his first work after the end of Shaman .
“This project is a mix of all my albums, but I'm always trying to bring something different, whether in rhythms, melodies, or lyrics,” says Hugo. “I also think that the vocal work on this album was another thing I had to practice a lot, because in some songs I didn't want to lower the original tones so as not to lose the mood, and that required a lot of practice. I think, without a doubt, it's my most complete project and has the best lyrics I've written.”.
Mariutti is currently delving into sounds that distance themselves from the heavy metal for which he is widely known, and exploring more introspective compositions. The title track, for example, speaks about the physical and mental exhaustion we suffer in the system we live in, and the demands we place on ourselves.
To celebrate the release of This Must Be Wrong, the guitarist will perform a show at Sesc Santo Amaro on Saturday, September 13th. Tickets are already on sale online at the official website . The setlist will also include some musical covers of bands like The Smiths, New Order , and other icons of English music.
This Must Be Wrong is a ForMusic Records . The CD will be available soon at the Wikimetal Store .
