Hugo Mariutti recently released his new solo album The Last Dance , via ForMusic Records. In a recent interview with the Ibagens Cast , the guitarist and singer revealed a song written shortly after the end of Shaman and influenced by the emotions of that breakup.
The song in question is “I'm Running,” the second-to-last track composed for the album, which became one of the most melancholic on the record. “I wrote it right after Shaman broke up, I think I started writing it a week later. It really has that weight, from all that confusion,” he said. “It’s a different song, it has a different groove, some drum breaks in the middle. I think it’s the most different on the album, I think it has a bit of Arctic Monkeys influence, but I can’t say for sure.”
Mariutti's solo project was entirely produced and composed by the artist himself, who only received help on piano and more elaborate drums, recorded by Flavio Marchesin and Edu Cominato , respectively. Mastering was done by Steve Kitch .
