Hugo Mariutti , former guitarist of Shaman , released the single "Ghosts" this Thursday, the 18th, via ForMusic Records . The song is the opening track of his solo album , The Last Dance , which will be released on June 15th.
“'Ghosts' is about a child whose childhood was marked by many family problems at home, who suffered bullying outside of it, and who lives with these ghosts to this day,” revealed the musician. The nostalgic and positive sound, in turn, is highly influenced by English post-punk bands. The new song also comes with a lyric video directed by Gabby Vessoni .
Previously, Hugo released the singles “ Blur ” and “ Too Late ,” also part of the album The Last Dance . This will be Mariutti's third album and his first since the end of Shaman . The project, featuring 10 new songs, which follows A Blank Sheet of Paper (2014) and For a Simple Rainy Day (2017), has been considered the most challenging of his solo career.
