The story of Steve Radeski
The Australian website The Advertiser reported the story of Steve Radeski, a motorcycle accident survivor who says an Iron Maiden saved his life.
In 2014, Radeski suffered a serious motorcycle accident and lost his leg. Radeski was alone and had only minutes to live, losing blood. Fortunately, a passerby, a war veteran and Iron Maiden fan named Bill Gaythwaite, saw the victim and provided assistance
Radeski recounts: “I only had six minutes to live, and he arrived about four minutes later, wearing a t-shirt from Iron Maiden's 1985 tour that he'd had since he was a kid. He was a huge fan, but he looked at me and realized he needed to use the t-shirt as a tourniquet to stop the bleeding until the helicopter arrived.”

Radeski's story became known to Iron Maiden, who contacted the fan and called him backstage at a show in Adelaide to give him two t-shirts as a gift for Gaythwaite.
Radeski says he still has the original shirt: “I still have the shirt from that day. And I haven’t washed it .
