The supergroup is expected to release their next work soon
During a recent interview with Ultimate Classic Rock , Alice Cooper revealed that he is not participating in the songwriting process for the new Hollywood Vampires , the supergroup's first album of original material.
“I’m not doing anything,” Cooper says, “ Johnny Depp , Joe Perry , and Tommy Henriksen wrote 90% of the album. I come in and make minor changes to the lyrics, and that’s it. But for me, it’s interesting to sing about Johnny’s anguish.”
For him, the experience is welcome, “Sometimes we get stuck in our own style of composition. So every now and then it’s good to do something that’s uncomfortable and makes you think, ‘Okay, how do I do this?’”
The supergroup first performed in the 1970s at the Rainbow Bar & Grill on Hollywood's famous Sunset Strip during an event honoring great artists such as John Lennon , Keith Moon , and Jim Morrison .
In 2012, Cooper and actor and guitarist Depp reunited, inviting Perry to record a studio album, mostly composed of covers. The album debuted in September 2015, while the new work has no release date yet.
