Hollowmind is back! The veteran progressive metal band released the single "The Divide" this Wednesday, October 27th.
The triumphant return marks the band's first new track since the album The Cardinal Factor , released in 2014, and begins a new phase for the band, which intends to release a new EP in November 2021 via Wikimetal Music .
During Hollowmind's period without new releases, vocalist Rob Gutierrez was involved in several projects: he toured with Felipe Machado (Viper) solo band in 2014; released the EP Presence (2017) with the band Silverage ; and participated as bassist, vocalist, and lyricist on the album 1986 , the debut album of multi-instrumentalist Val Santos ( ToyShop , ex-Viper), who produced the track "The Divide".
“They were incredible experiences that undoubtedly brought new influences to Hollowmind’s sound,” comments Gutierrez. “But the band’s sonic identity remains very much alive. The music speaks of that threshold between sanity and madness that has become even more tenuous in recent times. It’s a kind of reminder of the eternal conflict with our inner demons.”
